COFFEE TABLE BOOK
C&C Assignment 2 - Individual
Students are required to do a research on the specific culture of your interest. The culture can be a practiced tradition or a current culture that is trending.
We are to design a graphical expression of yourfindings in a graphical coffee table book. The book will create awareness and educate the audience on the subject matter or focus of the study. This includes design & layout, purpose, content, writing style, colours and etc

Objectives of this Project:
1. Able to recall the development of Eastern and Western human culture and civilizations in the past as well as present.
2. Able to demonstrate good documentation and presentation skills.
WORK PROGRESS
To start the project, We were given a weekly progress paper to develop our coffee table book. For the first week, I had to complete the proposal topic for the tutors before we could proceed on taking photographs and searching for more information depth on our chosen topic.

After my topic has been accepted, I begin searching for cafés around my area and surfing for information on the coffee evolution which is their different roasting type.

I went back and forth in the cafés many times to grab some decent photos and also stayed for a long time to capture the different atmosphere at different times. When i finally gathered all my photos, I jot down descriptions about the photos and categorise them and finally proceed with the layout of the book and adding in information and photos into the book.
REFLECTION
At the completion of this digital coffee table book, I have learnt to identify the various types of coffee and café found in Malaysia. Not only that, I am also able to describe the different characteristics of coffee and café by exploring their evolution through time and changing the lifestyle of Malaysians

I have learnt how to transfer my thoughts and feelings into words and graphics where I can unleash my creativity in the way that I am to think how to make my coffee table book an interesting yet pleasant one to read.

In conclusion, it was very fun to produce my own digital book as it was the first time doing so. I always wanted to make one when I saw those daunting e-books in the internet when I was in high school but I did not have the time to do so. Thanks to this project, the book was possible.
